Kennet Town - What's new?

October 2006

I have decided to delay the new layout as I may be moving to the bigger home within six months. A bigger layout may be possible, but we have to wait and see what happens next. Meanwhile I have sold some of the N gauge stock on my eBay account last month (September) to reduce the stock list because the layout is going to be DCC and I cannot afford to purchase each locomotive decoder, and I am pleased to say there has been some profits than I paid for those locomotives. The latest stock list will be updated when ready.

August 2006

I made a purchase on a book called "101 projects for your model railroad" which has over 250 pages, from the website of Amazon. It turns out an american verison of model railway, but most of the projects turns out to be very useful.

I have bought a new webcam, which is made by Phillips after the following of a friend's test on his own webcam. A webcam will be used to allow visitors to view online. The question is when, so an probable date could be in October.

New Track Plan has been added. See Track Plan on the Nav.

March-July 2006

There was nothing to report here because there has been no work on the project, due to busy arrangements outside the Kennet Town. I will be ready for this project when I can. The Forum has been removed from this web site. You can visit other Forums which are really popular for all modellers. See Links.

February 2006

As I am totally new to DCC (Digital Command Control), I am keen to get on with DCC for some tests. Unfortunatly, I did not realise that a transformer was not included in the Lenz Set 90, but luckily, I have a couple of Gaugemaster M1 to run a couple of locomotives for now. I have successfully tested a locomotive running under Lenz Set 90.

I bought Lenz TR150UK 70 V Transformer from Morley Controllers. It will be a proper transformer for the whole DCC.

Further purchases I made were Graham Farish 2006 catalogue and DCC Made Easy from eBay, online auction. (pictured below)

January 2006

I made purchases for Lenz Set 90, LS150 x 4 (point decoder), LK100 (Automatic Reverse Loop Module) from Mackay Models.

Nothing much to report as I have been busy outside my model railway project.
